Initial Ofsted Feedback

Following our Ofsted Inspection on 4th and 5th June 2019, a letter has been sent to parents/carers and students to offer initial feedback on their visit.  Please find a link to this letter below.  It can also be found under the ‘Information’ and ‘Letters’ tabs on our website.

We’d like to thank parents/carers and students for their ongoing support of Notre Dame and positive contributions to the inspection.

The official report will be published in approximately 6 weeks’ time once it has been moderated by Ofsted inspectors.

Gold DofE Awards!

Congratulations to Jack, Toby and Abby, our sixth form students, who were invited to Buckingham Palace in May to receive their Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards.

In order to achieve the Gold DofE award, students have to complete the following:

12 months of volunteering work
12-18 months of physical and skills
Qualifying expedition (4 days and 3 nights) plus a practice expedition
Residential (5 days and 4 nights) – a shared activity with new people

We are so proud of them – a fabulous achievement!

MKC Heroes – Lord Mayor’s Ceremony

Three of our Military Kids Club Heroes were delighted to be invited to attend the Lord Mayor’s Ceremony on the 17th May 2019, where we were given the opportunity to witness the inauguration of the new Lord Mayor of Plymouth.  It was such a special event and these students represented Notre Dame amazingly.  Thank you so much to Heather and Jono for the invitation.

Ofsted Inspection – 4th and 5th June 2019

Ofsted will be inspecting our school on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th June 2019.

Please visit the ‘Letters’ section under the ‘Information’ tab to see the letter and leaflet sent to parents/carers today.  The letter invites parents/carers to complete the Parent View questionnaire by 11am on 4th June.

End of Year Assessments for Y7-10 Students

A letter has been sent home to parents/carers today regarding End of Year Assessments for all students in Years 7 – 10 which will take place in June (17th – 28th) 2019.

Vaccinations for Year 9 Students – Important Notice

Virgin Care recently came to immunise Year 9 students against HPV/DTP/ Men AWCY. They are returning to us on Monday 3rd June 2019 to vaccinate any Year 9 students who may have missed the scheduled days this year. In order for your daughter to receive the vaccinations on this date, you must complete the online registration/consent form before Monday 3rd June. The link is here:

Governor Vacancy

Notre Dame Plymouth are looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience in the Education sector to join the Local Governing Board.

If you could attend meetings which take place 6 times a year (once per term)at the end of the school day, meet with staff in school to review linked areas and support at whole school events we would love to hear from you.

We are seeking someone who has either worked in Secondary Education or has experience of Governance in this area to join us with immediate effect.

Free School Meals

Plymouth City Council have now developed an online Free School Meals form for parents and carers to apply for free school meals in Plymouth.

Please visit their website (below) to establish whether you are eligible and apply in the comfort of your own home, at a time that suits you.  To access the application, click on How to apply then APPLY FOR FREE SCHOOL MEALS.  You can also download a paper copy to either pass to the school or send in to Windsor House directly.  The online form is a more secure method of applying.

If you have more than one child, you can apply for all on one form, even if they attend different schools.

For all children who qualify for free school meals, the school receives extra Pupil Premium funding.
