Teacher of Science, Permanent, 1.0FTE, MPS

We are looking for a dynamic and aspirational teacher to join our Science department.

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic teacher who will embrace our ethos, contribute to school improvement plans and raising standards in Science, work hard to help students make good progress and spread a passion for Science and promote aspiration for STEM career pathways.

The successful candidate will teach general science and, ideally, have a specialism in Biology.  They will be able to inspire, enthuse, engage, motivate and challenge students to raise achievement at all levels within a school culture of high performance and expectations of both staff and students.

Apprentice Receptionist, Fixed-term contract for one year, 37 hours per week, 4o weeks per year (term time plus 2 weeks)

8am – 4pm Monday to Friday, Hourly rate £3.70, annual leave entitlement taken in school holiday time

Required from September 2018, plus casual employment to complete induction training in July 2018 for one week

We are looking for an apprentice receptionist at Notre Dame School.  The successful candidate will be part of the Main Office team and will be based on the Visitor Reception desk.

The post involves reception duties such as; greeting, welcoming and managing visitors/parents, identifying who can resolve their queries and putting them in touch with the right person, answering a busy switchboard and getting callers through to the right person, taking messages and ensuring that they are passed on in a timely manner, acting as gatekeeper to the school when visitors arrive on site, contributing to keeping our school safe by following safeguarding and health and safety policies, operating the automatic vehicle and pedestrian gates during the school day, assisting students who arrive or leave school outside of normal times, plus undertaking administrative duties such  as typing, filing and working with databases.

The post-holder will embody Notre Dame’s five Rs; resilience, resourcefulness, responsibility, reasoning, and reflection.  You will need to demonstrate good communication, inter-personal and organisational skills, and be a team player.  No two days will be the same, so the job is varied, but by becoming the face of Notre Dame for our parents and visitors you will also need to be able to remain calm under pressure and deliver first class customer service.

Previous office experience would be useful but not essential.

The successful candidate will study for Business Administration Level 2 qualification via distance learning and will be supported by a college tutor who will carry out regular workplace assessments.  Information on the course content can be provided to applicants.  Entry requirements for the course are Maths and English GCSE at grade C, or above and applicants will participate in functional skills tests at the college.
