Due to the Coronavirus outbreak we have extended our advertisements for  current vacancies.  If you submitted an application by the previous deadline, you should have received an email advising you that we still intend to proceed to interviews in due course and you application will be carried forward to the new deadline. 

The new deadline for all vacancies will be 28th April 2020 and it is our hope that we can still convene a sift panel to make decisions about which applicants are invited to interviews.  We will continue to follow government guidelines for everybody’s health, safety and wellbeing.  Should on-site interviews not be possible in a reasonable timeframe, we may consider skype interviews in these exceptional circumstances.

Notre Dame School is an inclusive school where “every person belongs” and we “give equality of opportunity to all our students”.  We provide support to students with a wide range of additional needs, promoting positive self-esteem, planning individualised curriculum pathways, supporting all transitions and working with parents/carers, students and external agencies to ensure students’ learning experiences are extended through partnership.  We have also been awarded the Inclusion Kite Mark.

Our current postholder will be leaving us at the end of this academic year to relocate, consequently we are seeking a committed and aspirational teacher to join us to lead our SEND team from September 2020.

You will have a passion for leading and managing all aspects of inclusion and interventions for students with additional educational needs. You will be an excellent practitioner who has high standards and is committed to raising standards for all students.  You will be able to demonstrate strong leadership and organisational skills. We welcome applications from experienced and qualified SENDCOs, or from teachers who are currently working towards this qualification.  It will be advantageous for candidates to be qualified as a Special Assessor, however, the successful candidate, will be provided with CPD to enable them to successfully complete this qualification within the first year of appointment if they are not yet a qualified assessor.  For experienced applicants, there may be opportunity to undertake additional paid senior responsibilities.  This can be discussed at interview.

They will teach all abilities at KS3 and KS4 and will be joining a department that is focused on continuing to maximise outcomes for our students.

Work Experience Applications

We welcome applications from those looking at a career in Teaching to complete work experience placements at Notre Dame. The process of arranging these placements can take some time so it is advisable to contact us at least 8 working weeks ahead of your anticipated start date. Please take school holiday times into account when thinking about this.

To carry out Work Experience in our school applicants will need current DBS Clearance. For those who have signed up to the DBS Update Service we are able to access clearance information through this system but if not a new DBS application will need to be completed through the school and applicants will be asked to cover the cost of this. This process, along with other safeguarding checks, can take a number of weeks so please ensure you allow at least 4 weeks for this to be completed before you plan to carry out your work experience.

To begin the application process please complete the WEX Application form found below, ensuring you state;

  • when you would like to carry out your work experience
  • why you wish to undertake the work experience
  • expected duration and pattern of work experience
  • subject preferences

and return it to the HR Department. We will write for references as part of this process so please ensure current contact details are provided on the form for your referees.

Your application will need to be agreed by the Headteacher and subject leaders. We may not be able to accommodate your request.
