Governing Body - Parent Governors

If you are interested in joining the school governing body as a Parent Governor we would love to hear from you. Being a Parent Governor is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the school and become part of the decision making team that informs and develops your child’s education.

At this time we do not have any vacancies, however if you are interested in any future vacancies we would welcome the opportunity to discuss with you the rewards that come from being part of our team of governors.

So who are school governors?

School governors are volunteers, reflecting the diversity of the local community and business community. They work together as a governing body to collectively oversee the development of their school. Representatives from all backgrounds and varying ages bring different perspectives to the decision-making process.

What are the personal benefits from being a governor?

  • The opportunity to develop new skills and to strengthen existing ones.
  • The opportunity as part of a team to work with a wide range of people from a variety of social, cultural and religious backgrounds.
  • The opportunity to gain an understanding of the decision-making process of school governing bodies and an awareness of the education system as a whole.
  • The opportunity to make a real difference and contribute to the good of the community, leading to personal satisfaction and a sense of achievement.
  • The opportunity to undertake free training on various aspects of the governor role.

We are particularly looking for practising Catholics and Christians of other denominations who could become Foundation Governors.
