Notre Dame Plymouth and St Boniface’s College are part of Plymouth CAST multi-academy trust. The Executive Headteacher leads both schools, therefore advertised posts may hold responsibilities across both schools.

Plymouth CAST follow National Terms and Conditions for all employment groups and is a Living Wage employer. All staff will be automatically opted-in to the appropriate contributory pension scheme for their employment group (TPS or LGPS) which includes an employer contribution. Staff have access to on-site fitness suite facilities, staff wellbeing & employee support programme.

Both secondary schools are Roman Catholic, comprehensive, single-sex schools (Notre Dame – girls, St Boniface’s – boys) with a mixed sixth form at Notre Dame. Work Experience Applications

We welcome applications from those looking at a career in Teaching to complete work experience placements at Notre Dame. The process of arranging these placements can take some time so it is advisable to contact us at least 8 working weeks ahead of your anticipated start date. Please take school holiday times into account when thinking about this.

To carry out Work Experience in our school applicants will need current DBS Clearance. For those who have signed up to the DBS Update Service we are able to access clearance information through this system but if not a new DBS application will need to be completed through the school and applicants will be asked to cover the cost of this. This process, along with other safeguarding checks, can take a number of weeks so please ensure you allow at least 4 weeks for this to be completed before you plan to carry out your work experience.

To begin the application process please complete the WEX Application form found below, ensuring you state;

  • when you would like to carry out your work experience
  • why you wish to undertake the work experience
  • expected duration and pattern of work experience
  • subject preferences

and return it to the HR Department. We will write for references as part of this process so please ensure current contact details are provided on the form for your referees.

Your application will need to be agreed by the Headteacher and subject leaders. We may not be able to accommodate your request.

The Job Evaluation Collective Agreement for Support staff has been signed by Plymouth City Council and all vacancies are advertised under the new grading scheme.

Please note that all appointments, for Teaching and Support staff are offered subject to references; it is normal for references to be followed up prior to interview for all candidates invited to interview. Please indicate clearly on your letter of application if you would prefer references not to be contacted unless you are offered the post.
